Roma (Gypsy) Villages

The discrimination against the gypsy/Roma people is very sad. We are able to work with a variety of Romani throughout our different ministry areas, but God has allowed us to work very regularly in 3 gypsy villages and we are excited about what the future will bring in these villages.

God led us to work in this village located about one hour from the city. There are over 150 Roma families that live in poverty. The needs are great. We have begun many projects there, with the main one being the water project. The project is now complete and provides water to the families of the village. It was such a joy to see all the villagers come to collect water and not have to walk miles to get clean water. We are very excited about the future when we hope to begin a preschool, after school program, and church.

While previously working in the abandoned babies hospital, Paige took care of Alex for 18 months before he was reunited with his family in this village. Through God's sovereignty, we are now able to work in Alex's village. Alex's village is a small Hungarian Gypsy village with about 14 gypsy families. There is not an Evangelical Church in the village and we hope to have one in the future. This past summer God provided a sponsor for each family so we are able to take food baskets to the entire village. We also were able to complete a home for a family and lead kids'clubs. We are so excited about the future and what God has in store.
